Playing musical instruments is a “panacea” for dementia?”
California scientists have made really impressive conclusions about the beneficial effects of music on the human brain.
In their unusual study, they found that playing musical instruments contributes to a significant reduction in the risk of dementia in older people — this was concluded by scientists based on their research.
So, based on the study, classes on various musical instruments reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s syndrome and other types of dementia by 36%!
American scientists tested identical twins as” test subjects”. Scientists based their choice on the fact that when one of the subjects shows signs of dementia (dementia), it is possible to predict the degree of risk of the disease in the first, as well as to determine the factors that allow them to remain healthy in the second.
157 couples took part in this experiment. Scientists were able to find out that a twin who owned a musical instrument was less likely to develop Alzheimer’s syndrome than his brother. The researchers focused on both the physical and social characteristics of the participants.
Scientists from America claim that the results of the experiment are not distorted by natural factors: heredity and the conditions in which the twins grew up.
According to the results of the study, the following fact became obvious: playing even one musical instrument favors the fact that the human brain is much more effective in countering negative influences.
