When music cripples

For sure, this name will cause stable associations with rap or heavy metall among the older generation. “Alas” for them and “cheers” for fans of these styles: it is proved that the healing power of music is not related to its aesthetic value. It happens that a wonderful work from the point of view of a musicologist does not have any healing effect on a person. Moreover, there is music that can harm your health. Works that violate the laws of musical harmony, with uneven, intermittent rhythm, frequent dissonances negatively affect the cardiovascular system and breathing. There are cases when listening to such music led to cardiac arrest. Of course, complaints about rock music are largely justified. But at the same time, rock musicians have created a lot of works that are perfect in terms of rhythm and harmony, which give their fans a lot of pleasant and useful minutes. So the question of the harm of any rock or rap music is quite controversial. The only fact that is recognized unequivocally by all doctors is that excessively loud music is really harmful to health. It is experimentally established that the beat of drums exceeding 100 decibels leads listeners to a semi-fainting state.
Some of the subtleties
Don’t strain yourself! Music helps only when you listen to it, and not just provide a musical accompaniment to disturbing thoughts. Music has to pass through you, completely filling your mind and thoughts.
Don’t overdo it! An hour’s listening to, say, a Beethoven Symphony can have the opposite effect: not only will it not relax, but it will cause irritation and fatigue. A few minutes are enough for a session.
Adjust the volume! Even stimulating music should not be included to the full extent – this again irritates and strains the body.
The main thing is to like it! Even if you haven’t found your favorite music in the recommended listening lists. If the melody awakens pleasant feelings and memories in you, it will necessarily have a beneficial effect on your condition. In this case, Zemfira may well compete with Tchaikovsky.
When listening to music, always imagine that it sounds only for you. If you do not have a lot of free time, it is enough to allocate a few minutes a day, preferably in the evening. Even they will have a positive impact on you. Changing the repertoire, in a month you will feel that you have become more confident and calmer.
